Day 1- Versailles, KY- The Kentucky Castle- Lexington, KY- Today, travel takes you to the Bluegrass State- Kentucky! First stop is Versailles, KY for a tour of the iconic Kentucky Castle, one of the most unique and photogenic landmarks in the state. Start with time to explore the property, wander the castle ground, admire the architecture and enjoy the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The guided tour provides a brief history of the castle and features various spaces on the first and second floors, terrace views, rooftop access and the ability to explore the castle ground afterward. This tour showcases both interior and exterior spaces, so please be sure to dress for the weather!

Then make your way to Lexington, KY for dinner at a local restaurant before ending the day by checking into the Hampton Inn for a two-night stay.

Day 2- Keeneland Morning Works Tour- Mary Todd Lincoln House- Horse Farm Tour- Woodford Reserve Distillery Tour- After breakfast, head to Keeneland for the morning works tour. Get an overview of operations for both racing and sales. With an experienced Tour Guide, you walk through the Keeneland Paddock and Grandstand, grounds and when available, to the world-renowned Sales Pavilion.

Next, enjoy a guided tour of the Mary Todd Lincoln House. Located in the heart of downtown, the Georgian-style brick house is one of the oldest structures in Lexington and the nation’s first historic site to honor a First Lady. Childhood home of Mary Todd, wife of Abraham Lincoln, the home was restored to reflect the Todd’s family’s residency with period furniture, family portraits and furnishings from the Todds as well as the Lincolns, taking you back to a time of social elegance and turbulent politics.

Your lunch today will include at a local restaurant followed by a guided tour of a working horse farm. Your guide will tell you stories on the history of the grounds as well as Versailles. You will also have the opportunity to see mares and foals and possibly weanlings. You also could have some up-close interactions and behind- the- scenes insights during your tour.

Late afternoon features the Woodford Reserve Distillery Tour. Take a guided educational tour through the Distillery that explains the history of bourbon, how they are unique at all five sources of flavor, the bottling process, and much more. At the end of the tour, guests 21 and over can taste the award-winning craft bourbon for themselves in the visitors’ center. Tonight, dinner is included at a local restaurant.

Day 3- Rail Explorers Bluegrass, KY- Depart for Home- After breakfast and hotel check-out, head deep into the heart of Bluegrass Country for a Scenic Rail Biking Adventure. This unique activity takes you on a 10-mile round-trip journey through Kentucky’s famous Bluegrass countryside.

You can pair on these electrified pedal tandem bikes or ride together on quad bikes. Together, you’ll travel through horse farms, limestone cuts and sweeping rural visits. At the halfway point, there’s a stop for pictures at two iconic sights: Young’s High Bridge and Wild Turkey Distillery. This is a great time to take group photos, enjoy the views, and simply soak in the beauty of region before traveling back.

Following your scenic rail adventure, depart for home.
